Obituary of Stanley Darnell Freeman
Please share a memory of Stanley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Stanley Darnell Freeman was born and raised in Haddonfield, NJ. He received his formal education in the New Jersey school system before enlisting in the United States Army in 1967. He served in Vietnam and was awarded many medals.
He loved his family. He was married to his loving, caring wife, Denise for 36 years. They were together more than 39 years.
Stanley was the proud father of 4 children: Karen Moran (Lito) and Stanley Barge (Renee), raised by their mother, Pearl Barge. Darnell Freeman (Irma) and Shannon Stevens (Samuel).
He was a doting grandfather of 10 and loved them dearly: Robert and Melissa Moran; Adaiah, Jonah, Caleb and Melea Barge; Sandra, Ismael and Justin Cruz; and Sage R. Stevens.
He was known for showing his love to all. He had many barbeques that included family, co-workers, neighbors, friends and all who crossed his path.
He will be remembered as the "avid" fisherman. He had an ongoing thirst for more knowledge and could be found with a history book in hand. He watched TV to verify that they were giving the facts.
He was employed for many years with Wanger Furs, Siemens and had worked for the last 10 years before becoming disabled with the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, PA.
As a young man, Stanley attended Mount Olivet Baptist Church with his grandmother. He gave his life to Christ in his later years.
Stanley leaves fond memories to his wife Denise; his mother Helen Talton; his daughters Karen and Shannon; his sons Stanley and Darnell; 10 special grandchildren; 5 brothers, Raymond (Ann), Steven, Godfrey, Malcolm and John (Jamilah); 1 sister, Sheila; 3 nephews and 2 nieces; some special family members, cousins and friends and to his "homeboy" Bert.
God knew Stanley's road had gotten rough with his illness, so He quietly took him from labor to rest.
