Stanley was my very first school friend. It was either in kindergarten or first grade when I brought him home after school. His sense of humor was what first drew me to him, and quickly I noticed his kindness. Like most early friendships, we did not stay close as junior high and high school took us all in so many more directions. I am so sad to just learn thru a search that my friend died 3 years ago. I am so sad that we drifted from each other. I am comforted by learning of his service to his country, his love of family, and his love of history, (which I also share and will continue for him).
Stanley, you will always be my first school friend.
