Obituary of Raquel Louise Rogers

Raquel Louise Rogers was born September 1, 1951 in Richmond, Indiana to Victoria Rogers and the late St. Clair Rogers.  Raquel was the first born of five children.  She graduated from Rutgers University at Camden with a Bachelor's Degree in Business.  She was a pround member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and one of the founding members at Rutgers University at Camden chapter.  Professionally, Raquel was a master saleperson who used her gift of persuasion to sell almost anything.  Raquel was later batized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.  She instilled her love for Jehovah in the raising of her family and viewed it as a most sacred gift she could ever give her children.

Raquel was a beautiful person inside and out.  She was always kind and willing to go out of her way to help anyone.  Raquel had a sparkling personality which made everyone who met her feel like family.  Her smile that would light up any room.  Raquel had a contagious laugh that guaranteed to make you feel better no matter your mood.  Since she was the eldest, everyone else was always her "Baby", no matter the age.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.  Raquel was also known as  Mom or Aunt Rocky to many children in her neighborhood.  She would often go out of her way to make sure that they had a place to stay and something to eat.  She had an affinity for love and couldn't resist spreading her love to all those she came in contact.

Raquel is Survived by her mother, Victoria Rogers; children: Tracey Gilmore, Christopher Gilmore, Raquel Fleming.  Grandchildren: Jordon Rios, Jovan Riios, Gianna Knight, Jae'la Knight, Rashaad Carter, Jr. Her siblings: Craig Rogers, Kimberly (Michael) McLean, Larry Rogers, and Tonya Ahmed. Nieces and Nephews:  Victoria (Steven) Hill; Kimberly (Jared) Stewart; Stephanie (Richard) Johnson; Michael McLean, Jr. and Shahbaz Ahmed.  She will also be sadly missed by a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, St. Clair Rogers and Michael Fleming (son-in-law).

Raquel will forever be missded but she made a lasting impression on all those who were blessed to have known and loved her.
