Christine Bernice Christian, affectionately known as “Critty” or “Chris”, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 25, 2018, after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 15, 1940, to the late Martha and Morgan Christian in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. She was the 12th child of 13 children. At the age of eight, the family moved to Berlin, New Jersey. She was educated in the Berlin Township School system. As a young girl, she was a member of the camp fire girls (girl scouts), under the leadership of Mattie Bowser. She joined Green Grove Baptist Church early in life under the direction of the late Reverend W. L. Turner. She was a member of the Usher Board, Inspirational Choir, and later, she became a member of the Finance Committee. Christine was a faithful member of her church before her health began to fail in 2014. However, she shared a great love for both her church and her family.
