Obituary of Laverne Hines

Laverne Hines, daughter of the late Samuel Pelzer and Mabel Pelzer was born April 7, 1948 in Orangeburg, SC. She departed this life on Sunday, October 14, 2018.

Laverne attended South Philadelphia high school. She later met Raymond Hines and they made a life in Philadelphia and eventually relocated to New Jersey.

Laverne had worked for Laidlaw Bus Company where she was employed as a school bus driver for over 30 years until she retired.

Laverne was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She lived her life to the fullest. She loved going on family trips; shoe shopping on Saturdays and family dinners on Sundays.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Samuel, Ronald, Phillip and Anthony.

Laverne leaves to mourn: her children, Adriane Reed, Rolanda Lewis (Russell) and Raymond Hines, Jr.; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Brenda (Gilbert); one brother, Marvin (Jackie); sister-in-law, Karen Pelzer and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
