Obituary of Donald Berry

Donald Berry was born on February 21, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA.  He was the third born son to Clarence and Catherine Berry.  He departed this life on Thursday, December 28, 2017.

He was educated in the Philadelphia School System.  Donald attended Gideon Elementary, Strawberry Mansion and Simon Gratz High School.

Donald was employed by the Philadelphia Public School Systems and retired from Germantown High School.

Donald had a true love for music.  He sang in the group "Stairway to Heaven" and the gospel group "The Rudy Yuille Ensemble".  Donald had a true love for children.  He would take the neighborhood children to Smiths Playground during summer breaks.  He was known as the "Neighborhood Dad".

On April 21, 1979, Donald married Arlene Johns and from this union two daughters were born.  Christina and Shanine Berry, whom Donald loved dearly and was supportive of from their birth until his death.

Donald was preceded in death by his sister Deborah Berry, brother Clarence John Berry, and nephew Marlon Jaudon.  He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters Christine and Shanine and one grandson Nasir.  Father and Mother Clarence and Catherine Berry.  Brother Stephen, sister Vanessa (John) Jaudon, brother Gregory Sr (Annie), and brother Darrell ( Tanya).  One Goddaughter Sabrina Woodberry, five God-grandchildren Tyaira, Tyisha, Tymir, Tvon & Myracle.  He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, cousins, and friends.
