Obituary of Herbert Finney Patrick

Herbert F. Patrick was born on December 8, 1927 to Curtis Patrick and Hyler Finney in Philadelphia, PA. He attended Philadelphia public schools until graduation from Northeastern High School in June, 1945. He attended Eckels School of Mortuary Science in 1945 and later entered the United States Army on February, 1946. While in the Army, he attended the University of the Philippines from October 1946 to June 1947. Discharged honorably on September 29, 1947, he attended Morgan State College, Baltimore, MD in September, 1947 until May 1948. He transferred to LaSalle College in Philadelphia and graduated in May, 1951. During this period, he married Suzann Anderson on February 10, 1951. Later, he was employed by the Social Security Administration in September 1961 and remained until retirement on January 3, 1987. He worked as a car salesman at Williamstown Dodge for two years, then he was employed as a substitute teacher in the Monroe Township school system until 2014. He was initiated into the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, (Mu Omega) Chapter on June 20, 1976. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Curtis J. Patrick and Mildred Mobley. Herbert F. Patrick, age 88 years, is survived by his wife Suzann of 65 years; two sons, Curtis J. Patrick and Brian H. Patrick, both of Williamstown, NJ; two daughters-in-law, Marsha and Diane; four grandchildren, Aaron, Tamia, Brandon and Brejon; two great grandchildren, Jayden and Kayla; one granddaughter-in-law, Sherita Patrick; one sister-in-law, Helen Patrick; two nephews, Raymond Rodgers and Reginald Patrick and a host of devoted relatives and friends.
