Imani Damali Cousar was born December 12, 1988 in Baltimore ,MD. She relocated with her parents, Ron Cousar and Wanda Tisby Cousar to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1991, where she and her parents became members of Payne Chapel AME Church. Imani was a junior steward and usher while active in community organizations and events: NAACP Youth, Mayors 100 Teens, CSAC Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Jabberwock pageant and Delta Academy, and was a Jolly Jill Herald. During her high school years she was an ROTC Air Force cadet and Mayors 100 teens honoree and mistress of ceremonies. She also acted in school and community theater. Tackle football, soccer, and track were sports she competed. Imani entered Culinary Arts training as an apprentice at the internationally recognized Broadmoor hotel with five international chefs upon graduation. She relocated from Colorado Springs, Colorado to New Jersey and ended her career as a resident of Philadelphia in dental hygiene school. She leaves to cherish fond memories, her parents Ron and Wanda, brother Shomari Cousar, and her fiancé George Mendoza Walker. Extended family includes grandmothers Joan Tisby and Hattie Gantt, grand aunts Joyce Carter, Alfretta Saunders and Elaine Craig; grand uncle Lewis Saunders; aunts Hattie Jean McNeil, Denise Fleming, Priscilla Davis and uncle Calvin Smith. Cousins include Mike and Monique Cousar, Jelisha and Evan Smith, Devon and Andrew Fleming, Preston Page and Quincy Davis, Ingrid and Desmond Cousar, and a host of other family members and friends.
