Dear Barney Family,
As I was searching the Philadelphia Inquirer obituary section for a longtime friend I happened to read Mr. Naedele's story about the life of Robert. I was impressed with his kindness to all of his family and neighbors and even his friends at AristaCare.
As a plumber who has built Septic Tanks, fortunately not for a long time as I live in Philadelphia and there are not many Septic systems here, I appreciate his work ethic and I always use a version of his 'Never let pride get in the way of a paycheck' credo along with never telling my employees to do something that I would not do. He sounds like the kind of person that I would have been happy to know professionally and socially.
My father is the same age of 86 as Robert and served in Germany during his years in the Army , and I am wondering if maybe they served together.
May happy memories warm your heart, and caring friends surround you with comfort.
God Bless, Robert Kensil

I am so sorry for the loss of such a great man. I came to know him from delivering his mail many years ago. What a joy. I would see him everywhere and we always chatted. He loved everyone and always took time to catch up. What a legacy he left. My sympathies to all of his family.

Condolences to the Barney family. My father used to own Mike's Better Shoes in the Berlin Farmers Market, and Mr. Barney was a fixture there for sure, not just as a customer, but always stopping by to visit and share stories of life, work, and sports with my dad and the employees. I remember him talking so proudly of his family. I too, lost my dad almost 2 years ago, and it never is easy, but the memories and lessons learned last forever. Robert's passing made me think of these nice memories. My sincere sympathy goes out to the family.
