Obituary of Elma Louise Butler
Please share a memory of Elma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Saturday March 15 2014 our Almighty God, who does all things well, gently closed the eyes of our beloved sister and friend, Elma Louise Butler. He took her in His arms and carried her home to eternal rest.
Louise, as she was called by most, was born in Cinnaminson, NJ, on March 26, 1945, to the late Louis and Dicy Lee Butler. She was the second of seven children, predeceased also by our brother John Butler.
Louise grew up in Cinnaminson, NJ and graduated from Palmyra High School in 1964. She spent most of her life working as a "Domestic Goddess" and only stopped after becoming ill. Louise entered Burlington Woods Nursing Home in April of 2012.
Although she never married, she spent many wonderful years with Billy Young of Philadelphia, PA and later years with the late Albert Jones of Burlington, NJ. Louise loved The Lord, life and her family. She loved to take trips to Atlantic City and rarely missed a day of playing her "Pick-Its". She was also a wonderful cook. There were never any leftovers when she made her baked macaroni and cheese.
She leaves to mourn her four Godchildren: Renee Bennett-Floyd of Palmyra, NJ; Louis "JB" Butler of Williamstown, NJ; Dicy Butler Painter of Laurel, MD; and Kenny Floyd, Jr. of Palmyra, NJ; her brother William Butler of Cinnaminson, NJ; her sisters: Etta Bennett of Cinnaminson, NJ; Marie Miller of Millsboro, DE; Carolyn Cabrol of Laurel, MD; and Emma Weeks of Cherry Hill, NJ. She is also survived by her aunts: Esther Winston of Palmyra, NJ; and Barbara Coleman of Cinnaminson, NJ; two brothers-in-law: Tony Miller of Millsboro, DE; and Mark Cabrol of Laurel, MD; her dear friends: Barbara Mangos of West Chester, PA; and Victoria Kerney, a lifetime friend who was also Louise's roommate at Burlington Woods Nursing Home. She will be missed by a host other of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
