Obituary of Martha E. Still

Martha Eve Still was born to the late Charlie and Mary M. Washington on January 2, 1937 in Fort Gaines, Georgia. She was one of thirteen children; seven preceded her in passage along with two sons, Norman and James. In 1947 as a child, Martha and her family moved to Indian Mills where she attended Indian Mills United Methodist Church. In 1949, Martha and her family commuted from Indian Mills to Berlin to attend Green Grove Baptist Church where she became a member. Martha retired from the Stratford Nursing Center after seventeen and a half years of service. She was a dedicated employee, only missing three days of her career. Martha was faithful to her church until her illness and served diligently as a missionary and sang on the Senior choir. Some of the things she loved were beautiful clothes, shoes, hats and flowers. Martha leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Joseph; a daughter, Patricia; two grandchildren, Keith and Allegra; four brothers, Esau, Willie, Albert and Louis;p two sisters, Rebecca and Mary; 5 aunts, Annie Susie Jackson, Marine Langston, Rascal Brown, Bernice Brown and Carrie Brown; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Toomer-Washington and Marie Washington; four nieces, three nephews and a host of other relatives, friends and a special friend, Arnett. A special thank you to her great nephew Wayne and to Samaritan Hospice.
