Tsahay Shariffa McGeehan (Sunrise: November 23rd, 2024 - Sunset: November 9th, 2024)
Tsahay Shariffa McGeehan, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on November 23, 1976. Tsahay emigrated to Brooklyn, New York, in 1990, where she began a life filled with love, laughter, and faith. Over the years, she lived in Ossining, NY, Philadelphia, PA, Darby, PA, and most recently Sicklerville, NJ, always leaving a lasting impact on those around her.
A devoted Christian, Tsahay cherished her Bible and took great comfort in her faith. She was a member of both the New Testament Church of God in Philadelphia, PA, and Shades of Worship in Erial, NJ. Her unwavering belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ shaped her into the kind, loving soul we all knew. Despite her deep faith, she had a rich life before finding Christ, balancing spiritual devotion with a love of adventure.
Tsahay will be remembered for her boundless love for her family. She was a devoted wife to Kevin McGeehan, with whom she shared 13 years of marriage, and a beloved daughter to her mother, Maria Wint. She leaves behind many cherished family members, including her aunts, Annmarie Wint, who stood as her rock until the end, and Beverly Lewin, who prayed over her
constantly before she took her final breath. Her niece, Renora Matthias, tenderly cared for her during her last months. Her brothers, Renado Matthias and Brandel Matthias, who were her first loves and the ones she called for in the end.
Her cousins, Chedian Williams, Sharol Wint, and Monique Adebowale, were like sisters to her, sharing memories, laughs, and deep bonds. Tsahay was known for lighting up any room she entered, always embracing her family, nieces, and nephews with open arms and a fair heart. She was often the peacemaker, refusing to take sides, and treasured as a keeper of family memories,
earning the nickname “picture thief.”
Tsahay also found joy in traveling and always looked forward to Christmas, a season she especially loved. Her travels brought her joy, but she always cherished the time spent with family, including her loyal dog, Ziggy, who was more than a pet but a faithful companion through the years.
Tsahay Shariffa McGeehan passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on November 9th, 2024, at 4:52 pm. She returned to God’s loving hands, finding eternal rest in His embrace.
