Obituary of Samuel Bannerman

Samuel Bannerman, Sr., son of the late William Bannerman; who was a minister and Julia Bannerman. Samuel was born on December 13, 1933. Originally from West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a young man, Sam was a sincere and loving person. In 1952, Samuel married Ruby Eley, a marriage of 60 years. Samuel worked as a short and long distance truck driver for New Deal Lumber Company. Samuel and his wife Ruby later moved from Osage Avenue, Philadelphia to Sicklerville, New Jersey in the early 70's. There he built a beautiful home for his wife and children, three sons, Derek, Tyrone and Samuel and daughter, Cheryl. He was known in his community as a great businessman, who built an outstanding business called Merrett Hardware and Supplies. Sam was a strong, proud and great man in the community, he was loved by many and will be missed. Samuel leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Ruby; one son, Samuel Jr. (Marquisa); one daughter, Cheryl; six grandchildren; grandsons, Josh, Jarrid and Justin; granddaughters, Samia, Tamyra and Jasmine; one sister, Elizabeth Bannerman three nieces, one nephew and many cousins and friends.
