Esther May Benson, nee Fisher, the seventh child of twelve born to Minnie B. and Joseph L. Fisher Sr. on September 4, 1944, at home in Beverly, NJ. At the age of three, Esther became the beloved daughter of Lorena and Joseph Freeman. Esther was called and lead her to her new beautiful home in Heaven by almighty God on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Samaritan Hospice, Mt. Holly, NJ. Esther was educated in the public schools of Beverly and Burlington City High School. She attended Cooper Beauty School in Camden, NJ. Esther was united in marriage to Wallace J. Benson April 27, 1963. From this union, they were blessed with 5 children. Esther accepted the Lord at a very early age and was a lifetime member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she served faithfully until God called her from labor to rest. Esther was a Jr. Usher starting in (1956), she sang with many numerous Macedonia and community choirs.; she was also a great cook in the Kitchen Ministry as well as a Deaconess at Macedonia. Esthers' faith and willingness to help anyone was one of her greatest passions... Esther was 1 of 2 of the original living members of Macedonia Baptist Church on the 100th Church Anniversary, September 16, 2022. " To God Be The Glory". Esther was employed by J. Chien and Company of Burlington, NJ; Sears #8904, Pennsauken, NJ as to retire as a CNA under Medford Leas Nursing and a caregiver to many wherever she was needed. Esther was a devoted caregiver to Mother Freeman and her husband, Wally...She was an awesome beautician out of her home...always wanting everyone's hair to look good, as we know Esther never had a strand out of place. Esther enjoyed shopping, traveling, cooking, baking and having family and friends for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Amazingly, even as her health began to decline, she still was baking pies , cakes, making various kinds of salads in the kitchen with her daughter Rhonda. She had the opportunity to travel to Israel, London and Venezuela to name a few... Esther truly fought a good fight and kept the faith. Thru her many illnesses, she never complained and was determined to get to church whenever the doors were open. She gave all she had to serving in the Army of the Lord. During her many stays in hospitals and rehab centers she witnessed to others the goodness of the Lord...She has her wings now. Truly her humble spirit will be missed. Esther was predeceased by her husband Wallace J. Benson Sr. (2009), 1 son Lamont Benson (2015), 1 grandson Milton Hubbard (2022)and 2 sisters Pearl M. Fisher-Estrada (2020) and Estelle R.
