Obituary of Robert James McGruder

McGruder, Robert J. was born July 12, 1955, to the late Robert McGruder and Alberta (Jones) Greene in Opelika, Alabama. Robert, known as "Bobby" by most people and "Magoo" by others, received his diploma from Titusville High School in Titusville, FL in 1973. He went on to further his education at Pennco Tech in Blackwood, NJ, where he received his certificate in Electronics. Bobby also spent a brief period in the Marine Corps. Bobby was always helping others and greeted everyone he met with a smile. He was an intelligent man full of wisdom who enjoyed reading and playing the game of chess. Bobby was an excellent chess player. As a matter of fact, there were not many people that could surpass him in the game. He was a chess master. Bobby was also a great story teller. He could tell stories that would captivate you for hours. But most of all, people knew him simply as Bobby, a loving, caring and kind hearted man. Robert "Bobby" is survived by his daughter, Adriane Merrida (McGruder); son-in-law, Demarkco Merrida; grandsons, Demarkco T. Merrida and Ahmare "AJ" Merrida; his mother, Alberta Greene; sister, Lisa Baukman (Greene); brother-in-law, Hassan Baukman; brother, Harry D. Carter; sister-in-law, Malinda Carter; sister, Candace Greene; brother-in-law, Marvin Ruiz and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
