To the Handy Family:
I’d like to express my heartfelt condolences over the passing of my Uncle, Robert L. Handy, who we affectionately referred to as “Uncle Bobby”. He was the eleventh and youngest child born to the late Edward SR. and Viola Scott Handy. He was also the last surviving brother.
Uncle Bobby was in a unique situation. Many younger children born into large families have difficulty from being overshadowed by their older siblings. Others may even act out or create a situation or circumstance to gain attention. Uncle Bobby never faced those obstacles. He always made his presence known with everyone and did things his way. He was a “jack of all trades” kind of guy who could fix just about anything - even you if you messed with him!
Uncle Bobby also enjoyed being around family, having fun and celebrating life with everyone. He made you laugh, made you smile, made you angry, and made some cry. But he always made up for the error of his ways. With his passing now we have come full circle to remember it all with no regrets-just pleasant memories that will forever remain in our hearts. Rest In Peace Unc, you have earned your wings!
Sorrowfully,
Philip E. Freeman, Sr.
