Obituary of Lisa L. Moody
Please share a memory of Lisa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with immeasurable grief that we announce the unfortunate passing of our mother, Lisa Moody.
She was the epitome of a very strong, independent, woman. She was a true fighter. She was free spirited and feisty! She would go to bat for herself and whoever was around her. When it came to her kids, she defended us to no end. As adults, she never judged our actions or decisions. She would give us her true opinion with no judgements and was 100% supportive.
She was always willing to help others around her no matter the circumstances, and certainly no matter how inconvenient it could have been for her. So much so that she was in the process of fostering her nieces and helped her siblings out in various situations. She always had an open door and open arms to family members in need. Our mom had a nurturing spirit for those around her.
She was known for her sense of humor and being the cook of the family. She loved cooking, gardening, art, her grandbabies and life overall. She loved a good family gathering with those that she loved surrounding her. There was not a holiday or special occasion where people were not calling her phone non-stop or beating the door down asking for those greens!! She shared this trait with her mother and they both had a true passion for cooking for the people they loved. Her way of making everyone feel important and loved was one of the many reasons she was everyone’s favorite.
She was a proud mother and grandmother. I will always hold the memories of her with Aubrey and Zoey dearly. She was the first person to welcome her first grandchild, Zoey, into this world. They have such an everlasting bond. When my mother and I traveled to Georgia to meet her second grandchild, Aubrey, she was very helpful, hands on and loving, also while giving all the advice she could to E’faye and Whitney as new parents. She was extremely proud of them. She gloated on how smart Zoey is and how much she looks like grandma, and how handsome and sweet Aubrey is. She was truly the best grandma they could ask for. She cherished the moments they spent together, the phone calls and video chat updates with the children. We will do her memories well and always remind them of who she is and what she meant to us all.
My mom will truly be missed by everyone she touched. We are all saddened by her untimely passing, but she will forever live in our hearts. We find peace knowing that she is no longer suffering or in pain and is with the person she missed the most, her mother, Ann Moody. She is survived by her 4 children: E’Faye, Whitney, Nathaniel and Na’Shanti; 2 grandchildren: Zoey and Aubrey; 7 siblings: Donald, Robert, Jonathan, Roberta, Patricia, Linda, Shawn and Chris and a host of nieces and nephews.
