Sadie Mae Olgesby Harold was born August 8, 1927 to the late Homer C. Olgesby and Flossie Olgesby in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was one of six children, all who preceded her in death. Her four brothers were: Samuel (Arabelle), Coy (Jean), James (Sue), John (Marion) and one sister Homerzella (Paul Sr.) She was educated and graduated from the Philadelphia School system. Sadie, at an early age, professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Second Pilgrims Baptist Church. Here she was a dedicated and active member, where she sang in the choir and was also a member of the missionary board. Sadie eventually met the love of her life and she was united in Holy matrimony to Clarence Alphonso Harold Sr. on April 13,1946. This union was blessed with four children: Evelyn (JB), Clarence Jr, Patrice and Anthonia. Her husband, children and grandson Lamar all preceded her in death. Throughout her life, Mrs. Harold continued to be a dedicated church member. Later on in life she became a member of the Grant AME Church. She loved being a pastor's aid and usher. When she was not busy with the church, she also was an active member of the Chesilhurst Senior Club. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
