Obituary of Ronald Garnell Stewart
Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ronald Garnell Stewart, a long time resident of Palmyra was the eldest of two sons born to Mabel Wynne and Ronald Samuel Stewart in Southern New Jersey.
He was given the name, Garnell, after is great great uncle who was disabled. Darnell was fondly called "Garney", developed his skills of walking and talking early, but at the age of 16 months, his medical and mental abilities led him into a world of autism.
Garney has a special way of doing things, but always was very helpful and caring. Very few people knew his desires of life and the shills that he utilized, such as cooking.
Tiffany Square is where he attended early intervention, a day program at Sunny Day School, and special services in South Hampton for elementary and high school. Barney excelled in track and field meets, winning several metals for his accomplishments.
He loved to read magazines and aspire in his knowledge of hair and hair products. He carried magazines almost everywhere he went and also carried a paper back Bible until it fell apart. It was his pleasure to attend church and never missed watching his favorite television program, Trinity Broadcasting Network; he loved the church channel.
It was his desire to be and do the best he could in life. Even though he suffered, was mistreated and persecuted from some who did not understand him, he still remained loving and kind to people he encountered; trying not to take on the hurt, because some people would assume he was less than a person.
The continued faith of the pursuit of happiness was always present in him. While overcoming the problems that ensued, his purpose for the Lord was always present.
For someone so dear, a memory for ever will be shared and mourned by his mother Mabel Wynne; his father Ronald Samuel Stewart, his brother Marcus Stewart; his aunt, MaryAnn Brown; his cousins, Gregory and Sascha Brown and a host of other family members of the Stewart, Brown, Wynne, Logan/London families and friends. We give honor to the late grandmother Valerie Stewart, whom he cherished.
Darnell loved the color red.
The red rose is symbolic to his dedication of faith to the Rose of Sharon.
