Obituary of Taylor James Pringle

Please share a memory of Taylor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 On February 8,1930, Taylor James Pringle “TJ” was born to Mack and Minnie Cox Pringle in Starke, Florida. He was the youngest of 10 children. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Nick, Rosa, Annie, Robert, Lillie, Sophronia, Cariner, Malachi and Josephine. He left Florida at a young age and joined the Army and served faithfully being honorably discharged on February 26, 1953. He was employed by the US Postal Service and retired after 31 years. He then drove a school bus for the Folsom/Atlantic Counties School District for 27 years and retired. After meeting Hazel, who preceded him in death, instantly they became a blended family; children: Kenny, Sharlene and Andre Rodgers. Kenny also preceded him in death. He loved the Lord. Everyone that knew him knew of his kind heart, sense of humor, wisdom, his stylist goatee and his DAPPER style. He served as a Deacon for over 42 years and honored it faithfully. First at Enon Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA, then at St. Matthews Baptist Church in Williamstown, NJ. He also served in other auxiliaries, including the National Baptist Convention of America as a Delegate. He taught Sunday School and serviced as Chairman of the Trustee Board for many years at Enon. He had a great love for his family. He would drive to Florida once a year to see family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memories in the hearts of Sharlene Rodgers-Olisa, Andre Rodgers, his special children: Nikia Palmer, Aamir and Hassaanah Vazquez; many nieces, nephews, grands, great grands, great great grands, god children and a host of friends. He also loved his church family. Submitted by, The Family
