Obituary of Corintha B. Henry

Corintha B. Henry, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and friend, departed this earthly life on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Madear, as she was affectionately called,, was born January 11, 1924 to Theodore (Suny) and Jessie Mae (West) Dothard in Newport, Arkansas. She attended public school and married Eugene Clark and subsequently John L. henry (United States Air Force, Retired). Moving to New Jersey as a military spouse, she established strong roots in Mt. Holly working at a local hospital, while John L. served in Vietnam. Their next assignment took them to Illinois and allowed for familial bonds with her siblings who resided in Peoria. She continued her work at Proctor Hospital. After a few years, the family moved to northern Maine where she adapted to extreme snow and moose. Upon John L.'s retirement, the family returned to New Jersey. Madear enjoyed living in the area and traveling around the United States for family events. Being with her grandchildren and working tirelessly to see them succeed was her life's mission. She tilled every leaf on her tree until God called her home. Madear loved her spiritual family and talked of the blessings they were in the twilight of her life. Additionally, she loved sports, mainly the Philadelphia 76ers and Eagles, and was overcome with joy with the 2018 Super Bowl win. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Jessie Mae, siblings: Theodore, John, Jessie Mae, Joree, and Aaron; daughters: Barbara Jean (Dallas) and Cora; son Gary (Stevie) and grandchildren Robert Jr. (Bobby) and Andrea. Madear is survived by er children Victoria, Raymond (Cheryl), Vincent (Gail), Janice, Denise (Fred) and beloved stepson Khalil. Grandchildren: Corintha (Cindy), Dondi, Charlotte and Thomas; Washington and Alex; Aliscia and Latesha; Jeffrey, Patrice, Eric, Curtis and Joshua; Jesica, Brandon and Vincent Jr.; Aja and Andrew; Jerome and Juanita. Great Grandchildren - Vonique, John-John; Danielle, and Dwayne; Myla; Joshua, Jeremiah, Tinea, Gianna and carter; Nyla and Noah; Justin; Jerome; Great-great: La'ajah, JaNyah and Jaheim, 1 Great-Great-Great: Ah'moni and a gracious extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends across the nation.
