Obituary of Carolyn J. Caliman

Please share a memory of Carolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carolyn J. Caliman was born February 9, 1937, to the union of Esther and Tip Douglas in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After an unexpected illness, our loving Heavenly Father spoke to her weary soul and failing body, calling her from our presence into eternal rest. Carolyn attended Overbrook High School, where she graduated and met Albert Sanders, whom she later married. From that union, she had three beautiful children - Michael, Robin and Michele Sanders. Carolyn loved the Lord; she was saved and baptized at the early age of 12. She was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church and Saints Alive for over 30 years. In 1992, Carolyn married Robert Caliman until the Lord called him home in December of 2005. She worked hard all of her life and retired from Camden County Public Works. Carolyn was an extremely giving and loving woman all throughout her life. She loved her family, singing, reading, traveling, and sewing. Most of all, she loved being a blessing to others. Her door was always open for those who needed a home and a safe place to rest their head. She had a beautiful spirit - everyone she met loved her. During her time in the hospital, Kocsha Hurt provided her comfort and companionship throughout and otherwise difficult time. Her friends and family will always remember her as a woman who provided a light to their lives. She was preceded in death both husbands, Albert Sanders and Robert Caliman, ; and her brother, Carl T. Douglas. Carolyn J. Caliman leaves to cherish fond and loving memories her three children; two siblings, Drucilla Douglas and James R. Douglas; her son-in-law, Mike Hurt; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her memory and infectious smile will continue to be a blessing to those who had the pleasure of meeting her. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
