Obituary of Michael W. Bates

Michael W. Bates, Sr. was born on June 12, 1952 in Camden, NJ to the late Everett Bates, Sr., and Doris Bates. He peacefully departed this life on December 5, 2020. Mike was a lifelong resident of Woodbury, NJ, and he graduated from Woodbury High School in 1970. He later on went on to work for DuPont in DE. His family fondly remembers him cruising around in his blue Lincoln Versailles and his never ending generosity. He was a talented artist, and loved to draw. His favorite part time however, was walking, sight-seeing and enjoying nature. Mike accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ at an early age. Mike was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Everett H. Bates, Sr., and brother Everett Bates, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his faithful and loving mother, Doris Bates, five children, Monique Bates (Jeania) GA; Michael Bates, Jr. (Quisia) GA; LaTisha, NJ, Claudia, NJ, and Mikey, NJ. Four sisters, Sharon Bates-Murray, FL; Lois Bates-Spencer, NJ; Diane Saunders (Garry), NJ; Brenda Comfort (William), MD; and three brothers, Robert, FL; Steve (Karen) NJ; and Richard (Krystal), NJ former wife, Mary Hamilton-Winfrey, GA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
