Myles Edgar Halstead IV, son of the late Myles Halstead III and Marjorie Gardiner Baxter, passed away at Voorhees Samaritan Center at 6:00 PM on November 24, 2020 at the age of 73. Myles is predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Creseda Jean Halstead, and brothers George Bonnie Baxter and Irvin Brock.
Myles is lovingly remembered by three sons, Myles, Jamil, and Raheem Halstead; two grandchildren, Mya and Tiara; and siblings, Leslie Brock, Norma McClellan, Theresa Moore, Ruth Washington, Eleanor Baxter, Gwendolyn Sanders, Bernadette Brock, John Brock, and Edwin Baxter. Myles is survived by his girlfriend Shirley Wood and her family.
Myles was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 23rd, 1947. He graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1966 and went on to join the international brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 13. He then transitioned his focus in life to the Masonic Order.
Myles was a member of Hiram Lodge No.5, Free and Accepted Masons, Prince Hall affiliated, Lawnside, NJ; Arbor Vitae Chapter No. 40., Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated, Lawnside, NJ; Jepthah Chapter No. 14, Holy Royal Arch Masons, Prince Hall Affiliated; DeHugo Consistory No. 2, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Masonry, Prince Hall Affiliated, Valley of Camden, NJ; Joshua Council No. 2, Royal and Select Masters, Prince Hall Affiliated; Mt. Ararat Commandery No. 12, Order of Knights Templar; Zamora Temple No. 73, Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Prince Hall Affiliated, Oasis of Camden, NJ; and Francis C. Johnson at Snow Hill Chapter, Knights of Pythagoras, Prince Hall Affilated, Lawnside, NJ.
