Obituary of Lucille A McIntosh

Please share a memory of Lucille to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Today we lay to rest our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and a friend. On Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 3:30 am, the Lord in His infinite wisdom, called His servant home to her eternal resting place surrounded by her family. Lucille Ann McIntosh, age 77, was born on October 26, 1942, was the 5th of 7 children born to the late Lucius and Clarice McIntosh in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Lucille attended Philadelphia Public School District until the 2nd grade. When she was 8 years old the family moved to West Atco, New Jersey, where 3 more children were born and all attended Winslow Public School District and later Edgewood Regional High School. After high school, Lucille was married to Robert Walker Toomer, Sr. and worked as a press machine operator for several years. Lucille was a God-fearing woman of faith, an ordained Minister. She would often evangelize to many about salvation. Her favorite song was "Blessed Assurance" and her favorite scripture was Psalm 1:1-3. Later in life, Lucille faced many challenges but ascended with humility and forgiveness. She lived a very quiet life. She'll be remembered by her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews for her kindness and patience and warm words. We Will miss this amazing woman, who was dedicated to the rearing of her 4 children, Vanessa, Robin, Robert, and Lisa. She took the phrase, "spare the rod, spoil the child" to heart!! Without a high school diploma of her own, Lucille's desire was for her 4 children to acquire a college degree. Each of her 4 children obtained a bachelor's and 3 master's degrees in their field. In her spare time, Lucille enjoyed activities such as bowling and various board games. She enjoyed reading magazines. She loved shopping at Boscov's and eating out at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster. Lucille donated to several charities on a consistent basis; she believed in sharing what she had. Lucille was predeceased in death by her mother and father, Clarice and Lucius McIntosh; granddaughter, Ranisha Kaleea McIntosh; sisters: Audrey Wilcoxson, Masrene Farrell (Moses "Pete"), Loretta "Kitty" Robinson (Belton) and Beatrice Cain (Odaree); brothers, Lucius McIntosh, Jr. and Jerome McIntosh, Sr.; two nieces, Clarice Carter and Audrey J. Wilcoxson. She leaves to cherish her memories are her children: Vanessa Toomer, Robin Toomer, Robert Toomer, Jr. (Crystal) and Lisa McIntosh-Harris (James); grandchildren: Anthony Scott, Jr., Dawad Ali, Jawaad Ali, Nia Ali, Lydia Toomer, Nafees Ali, Rachel Toomer, Victoria Toomer and Robert Toomer III; great-granddaughter, Aniya Scott; siblings: Marion Martin, Gwendolyn McIntosh, Julia Woods and Clarice Carter, sister-n-law Rosetta McIntosh and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
