Henrietta Posey

Obituary of Henrietta Olliemae Posey

Henrietta Olliemae Posey, the daughter of the late Doris and Willie Pete Huff, was born in Hammonton, New Jersey on December 23, 1966. She departed this life on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Shore Medical Center. Henrietta, also known as Lorette as "Rettas", was a native of Atlantic City, until she moved with her family to South Egg Harbor at a young age. She attended schools in Galloway and Hamilton Townships and later received her GED. Loretta was a hard worker and had various jobs in the food industry. She worked as a prep cook for chefs at Resorts Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, and later worked as a caterer at Stockton University. Loretta loved to cook and was known for her Swedish meatballs. One of her favorite dishes to eat was cabbage and turkey tails that her sister Jill took pleasure in making for her. Rettas also loved to shop at her favorite stores, Romans and Lane Bryant, and yes, she was a fashionista! She wore the most stylish outfits, loved her makeup and perfumes, and looked stunning all the time! Rettas knew how to make you laugh and put a smile on your face. She had a very loving and giving heart and always looked to help anyone in need. Rettas was a member of the Ray of Hope Family Worship Center, where she loved to sing and worship the Lord with all of her heart and would always have encouraging words to say others. She was also willing to pray for anyone who needed prayer. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mariah Huff, and her maternal grandmother, Henrietta Wilson. Henrietta's beloved husband of 39 years, Marcellus Posey, Jr., will cherish memories of her forever. She is also survived by her daughter, Tranee Huff; her son Marcellus Posey, III; two grandchildren, Trinity and Terrance Huff; her sisters, Katrina Purnell (Eric), Nicola Huff (Cecil) and Terry Holt; her brothers, Anthony (Michelle) Huff, Aaron Huff, Mark Huff, and Darryl Nelson; sisters-in-law, Angela (Gilbert) Stanley, Patricia (Jerry) Moore, and Darlene Posey; brother-in-law, Gregory Posey; aunts, Deborah Wilson and Juanita Freeman; uncle, Eugene (Joyce) Wilson; Goddaughter, Jamie Reid; a very special niece, Laneika "Doochie" Huff; her "other" sister and close friend, Michele Tennant; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and South Egg Harbor friends. She will be missed but never forgotten. She left a legacy of love and memories that will never fade. Henrietta fought a good fight, finished her course, and truly kept the faith! Lovingly Submitted, The Family
