Joyce Anna Woodard was born August 19,1951, to the late Hoyle and Jeroline Chambers at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She was the second of three girls. Joyce began her education in Philadelphia at Saint Benedict Roman Catholic school. In June 1970, she graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School. Immediately after graduating from high school, she attended LaSalle University. During this time, she went on to earn a bachelor's degree in accounting from LaSalle University. While attending college she joined Army ROTC. She later enlisted in the army with the rank of lieutenant. In 1987, she was honorably discharged with the rank of captain. Joyce served in the military for 17 years. In 1983, she married the late Carl Caple and was blessed with two children, Anthony and Lisa Caple. Joyce's career spanned more than 35 years of service with The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. During this time she received many accolades. Among these awards were commanders award for civilian service and professionals dedicated to excellence award. On September 16, 2000, Joyce was joined in holy matrimony with the late Pastor Aaron Woodard. They had a blessed and happy union. Joyce was a world traveler. She enjoyed traveling so much that she started her own travel agency: JW Travels. Joyce served God by ministering to others. When she relocated, she sought out a church to join so she could continue to help others with the word of God. She was a Sunday School teacher, Bible Study group member, and a missionary. In 2017, she became a member of The Agape Love Fellowship church in Cologne, New Jersey. There under the supervision of Bishop Craig Johnson and his wife First Lady Cheryl Johnson, Joyce continued to serve God and assist the church community in every way. She leaves behind to mourn her passing, her children, Anthony and Lisa, her grandchildren Anye, Mariah, Arianna, and Amiya, and her two sisters, Shirley Johnson and Deborah Chambers, her nieces, Lyn Johnson-Buie, Janelle Rodriguez, and Megan Johnson, her nephews Clifford Johnson, III, and Sekai Chambers, and a host of great-nieces and nephews, and cousins, and a life long friend Denise Ayers. Joyce will be profoundly and sorely missed by all who knew her. Sorrowfully, The Family
