Obituary of Frederick Warner Golden

Golden, Frederick Warner Jr. was born on August 23, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA to the union of the late Frederick and Lillian Golden, Sr. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Freddy, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, grew up in Magnolia, New Jersey. He accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age and was baptized at Grace Temple Baptist Church in Magnolia, NJ. He received his education in Magnolia public school system and graduated from Sterling High School, Class of 1967. Freddy was drafted into the United States Army on October 4, 1969. He dutifully served his country as a member of the Army Military Police during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on May 18, 1971. Upon returning from war, Freddy became employed by Bell Telephone, now known as Verizon, as a Cable Technician. He retired after 29 years of service. From 1975 through 1987, Freddy was married to Barbara (nee Sims) Golden. From this union one son, Tyrone, was born. In 1998 Freddy married Sandra Golden and from this union, one son, Sedrick, was born. Freddy's favorite hobbies included knives and coin collecting. Over the years, his fascinating interest in knives grew into quite a collection of swords. Among those who will cherish and embrace his memory: two sons, Tyrone of Lawnside, NJ and Sedrick of Mays Landing, NJ; one sister, Deborah Tolston of Beaverton, Oregon; one brother, Kevin (Wendy) Golden of Tucson, Arizona; wife, Sandra of Mays Landing, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
