Larry Darnell Martin (Skeet) AKA Mr. Chief, Died in his sleep on April 5th 2020 he was 42 years old. Skeet, was born on August 20th 1977, to Janet I. Gause-Martin and Larry N Taylor. Skeet was raised in Williamstown NJ. (JEW TOWN) until he was 4 years old. Then his Mother moved to Sicklerville NJ where he attended Winslow Township school system. He played pee wee football at the age of 5 years old, that jump started his love for sports, Basketball, track, he did it all. in 1995, his Mother met and Married Edward C Martin, Skeet was adopted by Edward, that's when for music was born, Hip Hop, Rap, Dance you name it, he was doing it. The family moved back to Jew Town in 1995, where he graduated from Williamstown High School. Skeet worked for Shoprite in high school, Meadowview nursing home, after he graduated, for a few years. He worked for Ancora Hospital for 3-4 years. Skeet was the first artist off of Hit Lab Records, his single (South Side of New Jersey), was played form state to state, and did very well. He relocated to Atlanta GA, 2006, to pursue his career in Hip Hop, he worked with numerous artist and studio projects. He never stop writing and recording his music God gave him the gift to be so talented. And for sure he know the work of God. Skeet loved God. And God loved him. At the time of his death he worked as Mason with Harold Taylor Masonry and Medusa Concrete and Asphalt. For the last 7 years, Skeet lives his life to the fullest, With the love of his life, his fiancé LaToya Pinkney.
Skeet was preceded in death by Sahlena Blackwell-Jacobs, his father Edward C Martin, Grandparents Shirley A Gause-Kersey and Floyd Jackson, Godfather Jeffrey Price, Godbrother Darryl Cook aka (black) and Godbrother James Reed. He leaves to cherish his memory, His children Aniya Martin, Tiana Martin, Gianna Martin, Darnell and Darryl Martin, Alena Blackwell, Phillip Blackwell, Lillian Blackwell, Elyce Blackwell, Grandchildren- Josiah and Elan Jacobs, Siblings- Andre Brown, Tamara Fletcher, Janita A Hernandez(Martin), Desmond Taylor, Ayris Martin, Desiree Taylor, Great Aunts- Great Uncles Mary Newman, Elizabeth Rich, Stanley Gause, Ervin and Pam Lucus, Bobby Mcdaniels, Aunts and Uncles- Flora Gause, Donna Gause, Cindy Taylor. Julie Taylor, Harold Taylor, Jr., Ricky and Latanya Batts, Tyrone and Euridee Gunter, Cheyanne and Linda Lucas, Gwendolyn Higgs and Godmother Linda Ross. Nephews, Nieces, cousins, So many we can't name them all. Skeet Loved hard on his family and always cracking Jokes, and making you know what laughter really is. And without a doubt he was saved and loved God. When you think of Skeet just smile.
