Gertrude Walker was born on September 25, 1946 to the late Annabelle Walker and Rev. James Walker, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. “Trudy” as she was called during childhood moved to Florence, New Jersey where she attended elementary school and graduated from Edgewood High School. Shortly after graduation, “Trudy” moved to Vineland where she stayed a few years before moving to Atlantic City where she worked various jobs before she became a Casino Dealer and had been employed by Tropicana before retiring as a Blackjack Dealer Supervisor after 30 years of service. “Gert” as she became once in Atlantic City was a member of Community Baptist Church in Atlantic City and did volunteer work for a few other churches and organizations in Atlantic City. Up until December of 2019, “Gert” was also an active Uber/ Lyft Driver. “Gert” was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Edward “Sonny” Walker. “Gert” leaves to cherish her fondest memories her one and only daughter Adonas Walker-Savage, her pride and joy and first grand Malaysia along with Dai’ Zhanay her “Toot” and Zaire who will make sure the Walker name continues and her brother Aaron Walker of Columbia, MD.
