Please share a memory of Karey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
My Life Deacon Karey Smalley Sr. On Monday, September 11, 2023, at the tender age of 72 years old I gained my wings. By my side was my “Baby Doll” Mrs. Emma Smalley, 2 of my many daughters Tanya Bradshaw and Tiffany Summers and my Sister-in-Love Mary Oglesby. I was born to the late Harvey and Alberta Smalley on January 26, 1951, 15 minutes after my twin brother Kenneth Smalley who gained his wings on June 19, 2021 in Philadelphia, PA. Now the Smalley twins are “Back in Stride Again”. During my younger days in Philadelphia, I attended Dunlap Elementary, Shaw Junior High and graduated from West Philadelphia High School in 1968. Me and my brother Kenneth aka Kenny were well known in West Philadelphia. We were members of a well-known club “Esquire”, and as twins we both were smooth on our feet. You can call me old-school, but I love to BOP and Cha-Cha. I was known for my stylish ways of dressing and love to do the matching thing with my “Baby Doll.” As a young child I did get Baptized at the White Rock Church in Philadelphia, PA. I attended Heavensway Baptist Church under the leadership of John L. Mack in Egg Harbor Township for many years as a dedicated trustee and soon later transitioned to serve with John W. Mack Sr. where I received my Deacon license. In 2019 me and my Baby Doll opened and are founders of our church Fountain of Living Water Ministry along with some of our children. I worked various maintenance jobs until I found a position as a Utility Worker with the ACUA” Atlantic County Utility Authority” until my retirement in 2012. I loved my job and loved the guys I worked with. Being a Boaz I found my good thing, the love of my life Emma in October 2010 we married. Emma is the sugar to my Sweet Tea and I will truly miss her. In this union we have a well-blended family. We might not always see all our children however we love each and every one of them unconditionally. I leave to cherish in my memories my “Baby Doll” Pastor Elder Emma L. Smalley of Millville, NJ, Irene Smalley of Vineland, NJ, Randolph (Dawn) Smalley of MaysLanding, NJ, Celestine Smalley of Princeton, NJ, Joseph Smalley of Absecon, NJ, Douglas Smalley of Atlantic City, Karey Smalley of Egg Harbor Township, Blair Smalley of Pleasantville, NJ, Taqueria Smalley of Pleasantville, NJ, Patricia Smalley of Vineland, NJ, Christian (Ciera) Smalley of Virginia Beach, VA, Joshua Smalley of Vineland, NJ, Frankie Smalley of Delaware and Keke Smalley, Richard Smalley of Philadelphia, Le’Andre Nixon Sr. of Vineland, NJ, Rachael (James) Jones of Atlantic City NJ, Arlene Gordon of Chesapeake, VA, Tanya (Noel) Bradshaw of Vineland, NJ, Tiffany Summers of Upper Deerfield, NJ, Dashonne (Jeromy) King of Millville, NJ, Rochelle Stewart of Millville, NJ and Tamia Stewart of Glassboro, NJ, Sister Sandy (Gregory) Ford of Philadelphia, PA, and a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. I was predeceased by my sons Karey Smalley Jr., James Smalley, and daughter Olympia Smalley. I hope you will remember me for My Stylish Suits, My Jewelry, My Sharp Shoes and My Shiny Rides. And remember: FLY EAGLES FLY!!!! I AM ON THAT ROAD TO VICTORY!!!! My “Baby Doll” & Children would like to invite you back to the church. for food and fellowship. DON'T FORGET THE HOT SAUCE!!!
