Russell Maxwell was born in Camden, New Jersey to Paul L. Maxwell Sr. and Madeline C. Maxwell on August 4, 1958.

Russell was educated in the Winslow Township school district where he received his diploma from Edgewood High School and graduated in 1976. Following graduation, he served as a National Guard for four years and was honorably discharged in 1980.

Russell was a member of the Wheels of Soul motorcycle club for numerous years where he earned the name “Chops.”

He worked in food services at Ancora for about five years and was employed as a Supervisor at United Asphalt from 1997 until his passing.

Over the years, Russell found Christ and for more than 27 years was a member of Living Word Ministries Mt. Zion Church under the leadership of Bishop Edward Wilson and Co-Pastor Ann Wilson, located in Williamstown, New Jersey. Russell loved advocating for the Lord and was ordained as a minister in 2009 and later became an Elder. The Lord led Russell to start Prophets of Christ, where he was the President of the motorcycle ministry. He participated in Outreach services at shelters and was recognized with the My Rose Now plaque for Improving Community Development and Growth by the Dot Organization Inc.

On November 11, 1998, Russell married the love of his life Lisa. They have built a life of 27 years of love and fun, including children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and lots of memories.

Russell loved to dress in the latest styles and loved an array of suits and colors. He was a die-hard Eagles fan, enjoyed attending Nascar races, camping, and coaching football.

However, he had a passion for riding motorcycles, specifically his Gold Wing Harley-Davidson.
