Rudolph Morton Sr, of Moorestown, New Jersey passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on April 12, 2026, in Raleigh, North Carolina at the age of 88 years old.  He was the son of the late Clement Morton and Gertrude Jackson, born on February 28, 1938, in Essex, Virginia.  He was the third of five boys and one girl.

Within a few years, Rudolph and his family moved north to Palmyra, New Jersey where he attended Palmyra schools.  After leaving high school, Rudolph held several jobs before settling into a career as a sheet metal worker.  H spent 45 years in that capacity for United Hospital Supply, Inc in Burlington, NJ finally retiring at the age of 70.

In 1958, Rudolph married Jean Gross and to that union one son was born, Rudolph Morton Jr.  Later in 1963, he married Barbara Robinson, and the couple made their home in Moorestown, New Jersey, where he resided until his passing.

Rudolph was a man who loved sports- often see watching almost anything, but most avidly the Philadelphia home teams.  He was also a dedicated family man who loved and doted on his wife and attended recitals, sporting and other events of his children and grandchildren and could be heard vigorously cheering them on.  He and his late wife also spent many weekends and holidays watching sports, going to events, or just socializing with friends, creating lifelong relationships and memories for themselves and their children.  Rudolph, along with Barbara, were also members of the Foster Parents Network and over the years were foster parents to many children blessing each one with love and attention, Rudolph was always willing to help anyone and with his impressive knowledge on how to “Fix it” would pass that on to anyone who asked.

Rudolph was baptized, joined and attended Bethel AME Church in Moorestown where he was active in various church organizations such as the Trustee Board and the Men’s Choir.

Rudolph was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Morton, his older brother, Mr. Willis Morton, and his two younger brothers, Mr. Ronald Morton and Mr. Horace Morton.  Grieving his absence is his older brother, Mr. Stanley Morton (Rose) of Ashland, Virginia and his younger sister, Ms. Carolyn Parker of Palmyra, NJ.  He will be lovingly remembered by his four children - Mr. Rudolph Morton Jr., of Knightdale, NJ: Mr. Colby Morton of Burlington, NJ: one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Sheryl P. Morton of Knightdale, NC: his grandchildren, Ms. Yasmin Morton-Moses, Esq. of Raleigh, North Carolina and Mr. Rudolph J. Morton (Shanta) of Wendell, North Carolina: great grandchildren, Ms. Madisen Moses (14), Mr. Rudolph Palmer Morton (3) and Mr. Callen Morth (1): and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends who loved him dearly.
