Q: What will you never forget about Fannie?
A: A Memorial Letter for My Beloved, Beautiful, and Blessed Mother, Fannie Grace Bolden
Read by her daughter, Angela Michelle (Bolden) Wilmer at her Home Going Service, Saturday, December 27, 2025
“A Virtuous Woman” - Proverbs 31:10-31
Today, I honor the life and love of my precious mother, who graced this earth for 93 beautiful years. In her life, I see the Word of God lived out. “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.” My mother was that woman. Her worth could never be measured, and her love was beyond comparison.
She was strength clothed in gentleness and wisdom wrapped in kindness. Like the woman described in Proverbs, she watched over her household with care and diligence, and love flowed from her hands into every life she touched. “She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.” Those words describe her perfectly. Even in moments of correction, her love was evident.
To me, she was my anchor and my covering. She taught me by example what it means to live uprightly, to serve God faithfully, and to trust Him in every season. Her life spoke louder than any sermon. “Her children arise up, and call her blessed,” and today, with a grateful heart, I do exactly that. I call her blessed.
My mother carried herself with dignity and quiet strength. “Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” She endured hardships with grace, celebrated joys with humility, loved without condition, and never lost sight of what truly mattered: faith, family, and love.
Even now, her legacy lives on. The fruit of her life is seen in the generations she nurtured, the values she instilled and the prayers she prayed. “Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.” Indeed, her works do praise her, and they always will.
Mom, thank you for loving me as only a mother can. Thank you for your sacrifices, your prayers, your wisdom, and your unwavering love. Though my heart aches in your absence, I rejoice knowing your life was full, your purpose fulfilled, your reward great, and I will see you again.
Rest now, my beautiful mother. You were, and always will be, a virtuous woman. Your memory is a blessing, your love is eternal, and your legacy will never fade.
Respectfully submitted with everlasting love and gratitude.

It was a pleasure and honor to know Sister Fannie the short time I did know her. She had such a sweet and gentle soul. I will never forget the prayer we shared with her daughter Angela.

It is with great sadness that I say farewell to Mom Fanny, a pillar of strength and encouragement to me and my husband. Her remarkable faith in God was contagious, and her perseverance was inspiring. With a soft-spoken voice and a heart full of wisdom, she shared her insights freely. Her love for Jesus was evident in her determination to attend church, even in adversity. Her beautiful smile was a beacon of hope. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on in my heart, and heaven is now her forever home.
