Obituary of Eric Self

JANUARY 27,1965 - MAY 19, 2025

Eric Vaughn Self was born to Arthur Self Sr. And Maxine Self on January 27th 1965 in West Berlin, New Jersey. Eric attended Edgewood Regional High School in Winslow. He then attended Camden County Vocational in Gloucester Township where he received his black seal license. He loved what he did as a Black Seals Engineer during his time at Northgate Apartments in Camden NJ, Camden County Correctional in Camden and Lennox China in Pleasantville New Jersey.

Eric loved playing chess and checkers. He named himself, The King of the Boards. Eric was an avid sports fan, he loved his Eagles, he was happy they won the superbowl. Eric's others hobbies were fishing, barbequing and he had a love for cars, trucks and motorcycles. Eric like to fix cars, appliances and more. Eric loved to travel but his favorite place was Florida which he'd always hoped to return.

Eric had his life trials but despite all of his struggles, he had a big heart and was always willing to help and share. His laugh was infectious and jokes and trash talking was his specialty. 

Eric gained his wings on May 19th 2025. He was proceeded in death by his Mother Maxine Self, Father Arthur Self Sr and Brother Arthur Self Jr. Left to mourn his children Erica (Andre) Sicklerville, Essence Lindenwold, Vaughn Berlin. Sister Debra McKinsey (Howard), Aunt Dr.Doris Ross Delaware, Grandchildren Arai Austin, Za'Raiyah Self, Nephew Andre(Khia), Nieces Stephanie (Jack), Olivia and a host of cousins and friends.
