Louise Sheila Mapp was born in Sandersville, Georgia, to the late Henry and the late Fannie Mae Brantley, on February 03,1933. As the only child, Louise began attending Zion Baptist Church in Philadelphia with her mother, the late Fannie M. Brantley, where she was baptized and attended services. Louise, as a young teenaged woman would frequently return to Atlanta, Georgia to sing, live on the local gospel radio station during her summer hiatus from attending “William Penn High School for girls” within the city of Philadelphia. As she blossomed into a beautiful songbird, whose melodic voice could always be heard as she attended to the needs of her husband (the late Elwood Lee Mapp) and her young children. We would be remiss not to speak of her profound and everlasting “sister-cousin” relationship with the late Winnie Izzard (Sunset – May 22, 2021) who like Louise, had also migrated to the thriving city of Philadelphia to explore the wonders of life. Louise is survived by her five children, Leslie, Sharon, Vanessa (Charlie), Maureen and one brother, Charles, Jr.; Grandchildren: Lakeevya and Damon, Anthony, Neil and Khalil, Christine and Kawana, Charles III and Shelby: (11) Great-Grand Children, (2) Great-Great Grand Sons and (2) Great-Great Grand Daughters, with a host of loving Cousins and “Special Friends”.
