Willie Lee Ritter was born August 12, 1938, in Sycamore, South Carolina, to the late Richard Ritter and the late Rogenia Williams Loadholt. Willie lived in Florida with his mother at young age then moved to Allendale, South Carolina, with his grandmother, Hansen Williams, until her death. He attended school in Allendale and Fairfax, South Caroline, before moving to Brooklyn, New York, to reside with his uncle, Edward Williams (Thelma), who are both deceased. Willie worked in many trades as a young man, including, the Turkey House at the 14th Street Meat Market in New York. He met Lucy in 1966, moved to New Jersey in 1983, and they were married in 1984. Willie worked as a restocker for an airline food service company and finally retired from Stockton State College in 1999, after some health conditions and illness. He is predeceased by sons, Michael Thomas (Juanita), and Maurice Speller: sisters, Linda Priester, and Sarah Springs; and brothers, Thomas Moses, and William Henry Ritter. He leaves to mourn, his devoted wife, Lucy Ann Ritter; daughter, Gwendolyn Cook (Darryl); son, Kim Speller (Tina); brothers-in-law, James Speller, and Lewis Speller; sisters-in-law, Rachel Reed, and Adale Doty (Martin); a special niece, Deborah D. Speller; a special cousin, Valerie Abraham; dear friends, Charlie Canty, and Frank "Poppy"; and a host of grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
