Obituary of Elizabeth Perry

Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth Allen Perry was born October 13, 1923 in Fort Pierce, Florida. For over sixty years, Second Baptist Church has been her church home. She was a very active and faithful member since joining Second Baptist before her health began to fail her. Her ministries included singing on the Senior Choir, and serving on Usher Board #2. Elizabeth was a lady who enjoyed laughing, telling jokes and talking on her phone. She had many wonderful friends whom she enjoyed socializing with and chatting with on the phone for hours. She enjoyed going shopping at Absecon Starn’s ShopRite with her nephew, Mack, and knew where every item was. She had a memory that was second to none. Elizabeth was a walking information machine and could tell you some stories about Atlantic City, places, and people that would keep you wanting more. She was loved, adored and appreciated by all who knew her. Because she was an inspiration, a friend, a devoted aunt and sister, her memory will forever be with us. Elizabeth departed this life quietly on Saturday morning, March 4, 2017. Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents, English and Fallie Lewis; her husband, Charles Perry; sister, Ida Mae Hollingsworth (Fort Pierce, Florida); a brother, William Lewis (Philadelphia/Macon, Georgia); brothers-in-law, Calvin and Archie Perry (Atlantic City, New Jersey), and Mack L. Darden (Fort Pierce, Florida); and her sisters-in-law, Ruth and Delaney Perry (Atlantic City, New Jersey). She leaves to cherish her memories: her nephew and caretaker, Mack L. Darden of Mays Landing; her brother and caretaker, Charles Chavis of Willingboro, New Jersey; sister, Fannie Darden of Fort Pierce, Florida; brother, English Lewis, Jr. of Macon, Georgia; sister-in-law, Ruby Chavis of Willingboro, New Jersey; a host of nieces and nephews; and many, many cousins, other family members and friends, and her church family at Second Baptist Church.
